Realization

I built a house –

Fragile form on loose sand.

Beautiful and dangerously brittle.

Along came the winds –

Sharp blade on warm flesh.

Ruthless and impossibly fast.

The sand was carried away

Along with the house shattered into a million small, strange, unrecognizable pieces.

I thought life will go with it, but life found me.

I found myself on solid ground –

Everlasting truth behind the lies.

Sturdy and forever unchanging.

Feelings

How feeble are words when the subjects

Linger and hide

Strike and evade

Brim the heart and

Vanish in a single beat?

Write them down? Catch me a cloud and pin it down

And I shall write you pages to cover the skies.

Round, soft, adorable, and

gentle.

Warm, caring, helpful, and

humble.

I let it fall.

I heard it sank

                   deeper

                        deeper

                     deeper      

until I was on the surface again

floating aimlessly

as the gentle kiss of sunlight dries my tears.
